The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Today morning, we met in a conference room where we all were welcomed. We then were divided into small groups to get to know each other better, looking at our similarities and differences. We had quite some things in common!
We worked on several tasks in our groups, for example thinking of a name for our group. There were some interesting and also funny results.
After the group session, we visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. The visit was emotional and left a strong impression. We learned about the atomic bombings and their devastating effects. The exhibition showed not just facts, but also personal stories. There were a lot of photos, clothes and stories of people who suffered from the bombing. It was shocking, but also important to see. I realized how important peace truly is.
We then came back to small groups, working on a project to spread peace in the world. There were a lot of different interesting and great Ideas and it was fun to talk and to share views and opinions.
Later, we went out to Okonomiyaki together in. The food was delicious and I’ve never eaten it before.
We then returned to the conference room from the morning and back in our groups, we reflected the day and made plans for our trip to Tokyo. I’m really excited for the next days.
