A Day of Peace, Presentations, and Goodbyes
On July 30th, after having tasty bento boxes for lunch, we listened to an interesting and important speech about peace and the danger of nuclear weapons. The speaker explained that these weapons are a big threat to all people and that the money spent on them could be used for better.
Later, the speaker talked about the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. This is a contract that asks all countries to agree not to have nuclear weapons. Sadly, many countries do not want to sign it. They say they need nuclear weapons for protection. But having these weapons only makes other countries want them too, which leads to an arms race.
After the speech, we had one hour to finish our presentations and practice them. The order of the presentations was random. Each group had up to 10 minutes to present. After each one, the audience could ask questions. In the end, everyone voted for the presentation they liked the most.
In the evening, we had our farewell party. There was a big buffet, and we could choose what we wanted to eat. Then the award ceremony took place. Group D and group A won and got prizes.
Later, we played Bingo with all the ambassadors, which was a lot of fun. At the end of the day, we went to a popular store where we could buy souvenirs, snacks, and drinks for our trip home the next day.
