Scavenger Hunt 26.08.25
Getting to know Berlin!!
After lunch, we all met outside of our hotel, to start with our scavenger hunt. In order to complete it, we had to download an app, and scan a Qr-code. We were separated into the same groups as this morning, A and B. According to this we got different starting points for our scavenger hunt. After everybody was ready, we started. Our group started with route B, and went on to visit many different important buildings and places in Berlin. Our app told us riddles by which we as germans already could guess where we would go to next. A little arrow told us the directions, even though it was a bit confusing sometimes. On the way to the different stations we sometimes saw the other groups, which was quite funny. We sadly didn‘t have the time to really see everything and talk long about the culture, but overall we all got a very good overview of Berlin and it‘s attractions. Some of the most interesting/famous sights we visited were the „Tränenpalast“ or also called „palace of tears“, an old train station, where people had to say goodbye to their relatives, when Germany was still divided. We also walked by the „Reichstag“ and saw the building, the famous dome and the flags. What left an impression on me was the Geschwister-Scholl-Straße, and our task for it. We had to think about the meaning of all the street names and what person we would dedicate a street too. My group decided on Margot Friedländer and all the other survivors of the holocaust. Afterwards we went to the museum island but sadly didn‘t have time to visit any. We also saw the Berlin cathedral. There we finished the first part of our scavenger hunt. Afterwards we had the chance to shop for some souvenirs for about 30 minutes. Then we continued onwards with our route. Our two most important stops were the „Brandenburger Tor“ and the „Jewish Memorial“ , both very important for the German history. Our scavenger hunt came soon to an end and we all went to get dinner.
After dinner all the people met up to start working on our group work and reflect on our day together. We also had a short pop quiz, which was very fun.
