Berlin Wall 29.08.2025
Berlin Wall 29.08.2025 At midday, we visited the Berlin Wall. There we learned a lot about its history and about how life was for people during that time. We were able to look at the Wall up close and imagine how much it affected everyday life. At the beginning, we took the train to the Wall and then had a guided tour with a woman who explained everything to us about the Wall, the history of the Wall, and the lives of the people who had lived back then….

Concentration Camp 28.08.25
Today was “Dönerstag,” the 28th of August. In the morning, after breakfast, we had to prepare our lunch boxes. At 7:30 we started with a morning routine led by Julian as the gamemaster. We were divided into three groups and got punished whenever the ball dropped to the floor. The punishment was that each member of the team had to do five squats. At eight o’clock our only workshop of the day started. The main…

Stronger together – morning routine 28.08.25
Stronger together After breakfast, we met outside the hotel to begin our morning routine.
We split into three groups, and each group formed a circle. Every group received a volleyball with a set of tasks. The first challenge was to keep the ball in the air without letting it touch the ground. The first group to succeed would win. At the beginning, we quickly realized that it was quite easy, so we added a new rule: we were not allowed to hold the…

Japanese Embassy & Scavenger Hunt 2 – 27.08.25
Japanese Embassy & Scavenger Hunt 2 After the lunch, we had to hurry up to get the bus to the Japanese embassy in time. When we arrived there, we had to go through a security check, since the people working in the embassy want to make sure that we don’t bring dangerous objects onto the ground. This process took a lot of time and we had to wait in the hot sun. The presentation of the japanese ambassador was interesting to listen to. We…

Identity and Conflict Solving Our second official day began early with a warmup session at 07:30 after a quick breakfast. We went to a small field in our hotel area.

Deutschlandmuseum 25.08.25
„Deutschlandmuseum“ – 25.08.25 We were in the “Deutschlandmuseum” (German History Museum) — a museum where you can see the history of Germany from the battles against the Roman Empire up to the present day. There was also a room about the medieval period. In the background, knights were shown fighting each other, and harvesters were working in the fields. Another important point was the invention of the printing press by…

Return Journey from Japan 31.07.25
Return Journey from Japan – A Day Full of Farewells, Memories, and Anticipation July 31, 2025, began very early. After a warm yet bittersweet farewell in Tokyo, we boarded our bus to Narita Airport at exactly 7:00 a.m. The streets were still quiet, while on the bus there was a mix of tiredness, wistfulness, and quiet anticipation. Some of the young people gazed silently out the window, while others quietly reminisced about their last experiences…
A Day of Peace, Presentations, and Goodbyes 30.07.25
A Day of Peace, Presentations, and Goodbyes On July 30th, after having tasty bento boxes for lunch, we listened to an interesting and important speech about peace and the danger of nuclear weapons. The speaker explained that these weapons are a big threat to all people and that the money spent on them could be used for better. Later, the speaker talked about the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. This is a contract that asks all…

German Embassy 29.07.25
German Embassy Today we had breakfast from 8:00 am. We then went to the meeting room to drop off our suitcases. Then we took cabs to the German Embassy. There were only us Germans and Japanese present.
From the outside, the embassy looked a bit like a bunker and the security measures seemed to be very high. When we were finally allowed inside, a diplomat came up to us and talked about the work at the German embassy. We were able to ask lots of…

Hiroshima – a city full of culture and learning 28.07.25
Hiroshima – a city full of culture and learning As our time in Hiroshima was reaching its end, we were quickly eating breakfast, in form of a diverse buffet, to check out of our hotel in time. But there was one last point on our agenda. After leaving the hotel, we put all of our things into the bus and headed for Miyajima island. While travelling, we learned about the rich history of Itsukushima shrine located on the island.

Then, we continued working in our groups on planning our scavenger hunt through Tokyo – with a focus on peace-related locations. We had to stick to our budget and carefully consider how to get around the city, where to eat, and how to explain the connection between our chosen landmarks and the concept…
